Older Porsches can be difficult to accurately identify, at least for me. Today while walking around Manitou Springs, Colorado, I saw this 356 drive by. I did a little research, but I really can't tell what year it is and whether it is even real. What are your thoughts?

I feel like Porsche 550s/356s are the same as Cobras in this sense. Unless you're absolutely sure its real, assume its a replica.

As for this specific car, I have no idea if its real or not.

356A competition coupe (I think). I believe the louvers were added because they were lighter than glass.

Is it real? I have no idea. Not that smart on these birds.

This 1956 Porsche 356A Outlaw looks a lot like that car.

I'm going to assume if it isn't on historic plates, it's a replica.

That being said, I have no problem with these as replicas.

They are historic plates.

I wondered about the exhaust as well, plus the straps. I'm not sure that makes it a fake. Maybe he brings it to the track.

Well, it appears my knowledge of Colorado plates needs review. In that case... I have no clue.
